How does Shipping with Brenger via Marktplaats Payment Proposal work?

Have you closed a deal via Marktplaats and want to ship or have a large item delivered to your home? You can then use Shipping with Brenger via Marktplaats. Brenger is a delivery service for transporting large items such as furniture, appliances, and bicycles. When the product is suitable for shipping with Brenger, you will see this option when sending a payment request under the 'Delivery' section. This feature is available for a limited number of product categories.


  • Delivery within 3-7 days.
  • Items are insured on the way up to €1000.
  • Free cancellation is possible up to 60 hours in advance.
  • Suitable for items with maximum dimensions of 400 x 180 x 160 cm and a maximum weight of 200 kg.
  • This shipping method is only available if you use payment requests via Marktplaats.


How does it work for the Buyer?


Step 1: Pay for the product via a payment request on Marktplaats

  • Close a deal with the seller and make a proposal in Messages.
  • Enter the agreed amount, excluding shipping costs.
  • Choose 'Delivery' and select Brenger. Here, the estimated delivery price is displayed. The price is based on standard Curbside delivery, the Buyer's postal code, and the ad's postal code. The final price is calculated later during checkout.
  • Then choose 'Send payment request.'
  • Once the Seller has accepted the request, you will receive a payment request in Messages.
  • Choose 'Proceed to payment' to complete the transaction.
  • Check the dimensions and the number of item(s) and select the final delivery address.
  • After payment, you will receive a sales overview and a step-by-step plan to arrange delivery through Brenger in Messages.


Step 2: Plan the delivery day


  • After paying for the product and delivery, you can schedule a delivery appointment via Brenger’s date planner.
  • As a Buyer, you will receive an email requesting you to provide the desired delivery days.
  • Select at least 3 days when you are available for delivery between 08:00 and 18:00. These options are forwarded to the Seller. Once the Seller has confirmed a day, you will receive a confirmation email.
  • When planning a delivery date, you can add location directions and instructions for the courier.
  • Extra help: Optionally book an extra service if you need help unloading or carrying the items.


Step 3: Delivery by Brenger


  • Brenger ensures that the items are picked up and delivered on the agreed day.
  • The evening before the transport, you will receive an email with a 4-hour time slot when the courier will arrive.
  • You can follow the transport via the tracking page. Two hours before the courier arrives, you will receive his/her contact details.
  • On the day of transport, you help the courier with unloading. You carry your items inside unless you have booked an extra service.

How does it work for the Seller?


Step 1: Payment request via Marktplaats

  • Close a deal with the Buyer and make a proposal in Messages on Marktplaats.
  • Choose 'Delivery' and select Brenger. The estimated delivery price displayed is based on the ad's postal code and standard Curbside delivery. The Buyer can see a more accurate price when they send a proposal and enter the delivery address.
  • Enter the pickup address where the courier must come to pick up the item.
  • Send the payment request. The Buyer receives this request directly in Messages.
  • Once the Buyer has accepted and paid the request, you will receive a sales overview and a step-by-step plan to arrange delivery through Brenger in Messages.

  • After the Buyer has paid for the product and delivery, a pickup appointment can be scheduled.
  • The Buyer will receive an email from Brenger to plan the delivery and select at least 3 available days.
  • You will then receive an email to confirm the pickup day.

  • When planning a date, both parties are asked to be available between 08:00 and 18:00.
  • The evening before the transport, Brenger sends an email with a 4-hour time slot when the courier will arrive.

What does Curbside delivery mean?

When you choose Brenger to ship your Marktplaats purchase, you book a standard Curbside delivery. The delivery is arranged within 3-7 days.


Standard Curbside delivery entails:

  • The seller prepares the items on the curb and helps the courier(s) with loading.
  • The buyer helps the courier(s) with unloading.
  • The buyer carries the items inside.


What is included in the estimated delivery price shown on Marktplaats?


The estimated price for delivery is based on the postal code of the advertisement and standard Curbside delivery. The final price is shown after selecting the delivery address during checkout. After booking standard Curbside delivery, the Buyer has the option to book additional services through Brenger, such as help with lifting.

  • At the delivery location, the courier(s) take full responsibility for lifting the items to the desired place inside.
  • This is a more comprehensive service where the buyer does not need to assist with loading or unloading or bringing the items inside.


How can I adjust the pickup and delivery date?

Once the date is confirmed by the seller and the transport is linked to a courier, the date/time slot cannot be changed. In exceptional cases, the transport can be moved to another date. For this, you can contact Brenger Support via chat. Change fees may apply.


Do you want to cancel the transport? Only the Buyer can cancel the transport via the tracking page or the confirmation email from Brenger. Cancellation is free until a delivery appointment is scheduled. If you cancel afterward, you will receive a (partial) refund:


  • Up to 60 hours in advance: 100%
  • Up to 24 hours in advance: 50%
  • Within 24 hours in advance: 25%


The cancellation fees go to the courier, as they have reserved time for your transport in their schedule. The Buyer receives a refund for the booked transport from Marktplaats. If an extra service was booked, the cost of this service is refunded by Brenger.

Can I leave a message for the courier?

Yes, you can leave a message for the courier. When planning a delivery date, you have the opportunity to add instructions for the courier. These could be location directions, information about parking options, and the best way for the courier to reach you. These instructions can also be added via the tracking page if necessary.


On the day of transport, it is possible to directly contact the courier. The courier's contact details are available two hours before the time slot on the tracking page.


Where can I find the tracking page of Brenger?

After the buyer has paid for the product on Marktplaats, you receive an overview in Messages. Choose 'Go to Brenger' to go to the tracking page. Both the buyer and the seller also receive status updates about the delivery via email and SMS.


Are my items insured during transport?

All items sent via Sending with Brenger through the Marketplace Payment Request are insured against damage and theft from door to door up to €1000 during transport. Damage that occurs when the courier lifts or assists in lifting the items within the house or building at the pickup or delivery address is not covered by this insurance. In case of damage, we ask you to immediately contact Brenger by phone and send photos of the damaged items, a description of the damage, and proof of repair costs and/or purchase value to info@brenger.nl. Brenger reimburses the repair costs as outlined in the quote from a professional restorer, up to the purchase value of the product, up to €1000.
