How do I prevent fraud on Brenger?

Updated at: 2024-04-04 17:31
  • If someone wants to switch the contact from Marktplaats/Facebook Marketplace or any other selling platform to WhatsApp, SMS, email, or another channel, be cautious. Never provide your phone number if you have doubts and communicate through the chat of the sales platform.

  • Always verify the sender's email address. When a buyer pays for your product through Brenger, you will receive a confirmation email from [email protected] or [email protected]. Be cautious with emails from other senders.

  • Check URLs and never click on suspicious links. Never click on links received via WhatsApp (or other chat apps), SMS, or emails that do not come from one of our authorized email addresses. Always check the URL before clicking. A genuine Brenger URL always starts with:

    https://www.brenger.nl in the Netherlands
    https://www.brenger.be in Belgium
    https://www.brengertransport.com in Germany.

  • Never share your debit card details (such as card number), credit card information, or login credentials.

  • Only make payments through official payment systems. During the payment process, you will be redirected to the Online Payment Platform/Foundation (https://www.onlinebetaalplatform.nl) or Mollie Payments (https://www.mollie.com/checkout/). These are the only payment systems we offer.

  • Be cautious during Verification. The first time you sell a product and use Brenger for payment and delivery, you will receive an email from [email protected] or [email protected].inviting you to verify your identity by transferring € 0.01 through the Online Payment Platform. This measure is designed to prevent cybercrime.
    • Invitations to confirm payment through other channels, such as WhatsApp (or other chat apps), SMS, or email addresses that do not come from [email protected] or [email protected] . may indicate phishing. Brenger never asks for payment verification by purchasing a voucher from another website. Always report such attempts to Brenger.
  • Brenger couriers will never ask you for a copy or photos of your identification document. Never send a copy of your identification document yourself.

  • For extra security, Brenger provides a 'Secure Payment' option. This allows you to pay for the transport and the purchase in one go. Read more about how it works here.
