How do I prepare myself (or my item) for transport with Brenger?

Updated at: 2026-01-19 17:18

Good preparation ensures a smooth and safe delivery. In most cases, items don’t need to be fully wrapped, but they should be transport-ready - especially if large or awkwardly shaped.

Prepare your item(s) for transport:

  • Disassemble if necessary: items should fit through doors/stairs and be liftable by 2 people
  • Secure loose parts like drawers and doors
  • Attach small parts (like screws or remotes) in a bag to the item
  • Protect fragile surfaces like glass or marble with bubble wrap and cardboard
  • E-bike? Turn off the battery but leave it in the bike

Prepare the location for pickup and delivery:

Get your space ready:

  • Make sure there’s a clear path to/from the door: no rugs, mats, or furniture in the way
  • Keep stairs, elevators, and entrances clear
  • Remove fragile decorations along the route
  • Protect walls, corners, and floors if needed

Be ready to help the courier: Check which service you’ve booked. Didn’t add lifting assistance? Then make sure someone is present at both pickup and drop-off to help the courier lift.

Good to know: If the item turns out to be too heavy or large to lift alone and no help is available, the courier may decline the job and leave the item behind.
